Ogyre
At every stage of the production process, we strive to minimize the use of plastic or potentially polluting materials as much as possible, prioritizing more sustainable, durable, and responsible solutions. However, in certain cases, the use of plastic materials is still necessary, not only for functional or technical reasons, but also out of respect for the original design of some of our iconic products, such as the radiocubo, where shape and materials are an integral part of the design identity established in the 1960s.
It is precisely in these cases that we decided to go beyond simple reduction by embarking on a virtuous path together with Ogyre, the first global Fishing for Litter network dedicated to ocean protection. Thanks to this collaboration, Brionvega is now actively working to mitigate its plastic footprint: for every gram of plastic used in our products and packaging, we fund the recovery of the exact same amount of marine and coastal waste.
Ogyre operates through a network of fishermen and local communities active in Italy, Brazil, Senegal, and Indonesia, turning their daily work into concrete environmental action. It is a quiet yet essential effort that contributes to the health of marine ecosystems and coastal communities.
For us, this is a real, measurable commitment that is deeply consistent with our understanding of design: not merely as form and function, but as a cultural and responsible act.
