60 years of an icon at Fuorisalone

On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2026, Brionvega unveils to the public the 60th Anniversary radiofonografo: a special numbered edition that pays tribute to the masterpiece designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, featuring an original chromatic intervention by designer Elena Salmistraro.
The radiofonografo will take center stage at the bredaquaranta showroom on Via Fatebenefratelli 10, in the heart of the Brera Design District.

A timeless icon

Launched in September 1965, the radiofonografo revolutionized the concept of “home stereo,” transforming music listening into a sculptural experience. From the halls of the MoMA in New York to the Triennale in Milan, this object remains a symbol of Italian artisanal excellence. Sixty years after its debut, it continues to be handcrafted with the same attention to detail as in the past.

Elena Salmistraro’s Touch: Nature and Modernity

To celebrate this important anniversary, designer Elena Salmistraro has reinterpreted the aesthetic of the radiofonografo through a forward-looking color palette: the body of the object is dressed in an original Regenerative Green, a shade that evokes vitality and nature, enriched by warm tobacco-colored details on buttons, knobs, and grilles. The structure rests on a matte black base with a monolithic appearance, lending solidity and compositional balance to the whole, while the smoked-effect turntable cover adds a touch of sophisticated transparency, creating an elegant and contemporary material contrast.

Limited Edition: 60 Numbered Pieces

The 60th Anniversary radiofonografo edition is limited to 60 numbered units, each crafted one by one in Italy using artisanal techniques that honor the brand’s manufacturing tradition. Every piece combines Brionvega’s excellence in craftsmanship with a renewed chromatic vision, resulting in an object that preserves its historical identity while projecting itself effortlessly into the present. A tribute to the past, a statement in the present, and a companion designed for future generations.
